All Insurance Companies have announced new policy binding Guidelines for Automobile, Businessowners, Commercial Fire, Dealer's Blanket, Garagekeepers, Homeowners, Inland Marine, Mobile Homeowners, and the property portions of Dwelling Fire, Farm, and Property Policy policies:

Due to Hurricane Ian's location and projected storm track, all Insurance Companies have now suspended binding authority as of September 28, 2022 10:59 AM EDT for the following states and counties:

Florida

  1. Entire state

Georgia:

  1. Brooks
  2. Bryan
  3. Camden
  4. Charlton
  5. Chatham
  6. Clinch
  7. Decatur
  8. Echols
  9. Glynn
  10. Grady
  11. Liberty
  12. Lowndes
  13. McIntosh
  14. Seminole
  15. Thomas
  16. Ware

South Carolina

  1. Beaufort
  2. Berkeley
  3. Charleston
  4. Colleton
  5. Dorchester
  6. Jasper

These binding guidelines do not apply to:

  • New Personal or Commercial Automobile policies
  • Adding new or replacement vehicles to existing Personal or Commercial Automobile policies
  • Adding physical damage Collision coverage to existing Personal or Commercial Automobile policies
  • Adding Garagekeepers Direct Excess coverage to existing Garage policies
  • Adding Garagekeepers Legal Liability coverage to existing Garage policies

For remaining coverages the following applies:

1. Once a binding suspension has been implemented, Statewide Insurance Group cannot process of the following:

  • Bind or issue any new property policies
  • Increase existing policy limits
  • Endorse any extended coverage, including adding physical damage Comprehensive coverage (Other Than Collision coverage in North Carolina or Virginia) to existing Personal or Commercial Automobile policies
  • Add windstorm coverage to existing policies
  • Lower deductibles on an existing policies

Once the storm has passed, insurance companies will remove the temporary restrictions and we will again be able to issue new policies and endorsements as normal.  We will keep you updated as bulletins and notices are issued.
