Commercial Auto Insurance

The potential liability exposure for business vehicles is enormous.

The potential liability exposure for business vehicles is enormous.

A personal auto insurance policy is probably of no use if an employee is involved in an accident. You could even be charged with misrepresentation if you’ve placed a vehicle used for commercial purposes under your personal auto policy. You need commercial auto insurance.

A commercial automobile policy provides coverage for liability involving bodily injury or property damage from the use of your business vehicles as well as damage to your vehicle. Vehicles covered under this type of policy can include all business-use autos, pickups, vans, trucks and even rented vehicles.

Consult with a Statewide agent for the proper level of coverage needed for your commercial fleet.

  • Commercial Liability Coverage. This coverage protects you from expenses related to bodily injury or property damage caused by your business vehicle.
  • Medical Payments Coverage. This provides protection for reasonable and necessary medical expenses for those injured while in, or getting in and out of your business vehicle.
  • Hired Automobile Coverage. This option provides liability coverage for automobiles that your business leases, rents or borrows for business purposes.
  • Non-Owned Automobile Coverage. This option provides liability coverage for vehicles not owned, leased or hired by your business but used by your business – such as an employee who uses his or her car to make sales calls.
  • Uninsured Motorist Coverage. This coverage is required in most states and pays for expenses associated with bodily injury and property damage from an accident caused by a driver who does not have auto liability insurance.
  • Underinsured Motorist Coverage. This coverage pays for expenses associated with bodily injury or death from an accident caused by a negligent driver who has insufficient auto liability coverage.
  • Collision Coverage. This pays to repair the damage done to your commercial vehicle due to an accident.
  • Comprehensive Coverage. This coverage pays for the loss or damage done to your commercial vehicle in some way other than a collision – such as theft, fire, flood and storm damage.
  • Additional Expense Coverage. This optional coverage provides extra protection for additional expenses incurred as a result of a loss for which you are protected under comprehensive or collision coverages.
  • Specialized Coverage. Specialized endorsements may be added to your commercial vehicle policy to cover your specific business needs – such as lease gap coverage and travel outside the United States.
